Ted is so knowledgeable, professional and amicable. This was my first experience with physical therapy. Through his expertise and my commitment to following the exercises he prescribed for me my outcome is more than I could have hoped for. Anyone who is fortunate enough to work with Ted should be very grateful. I have already recommended PeteHealth to others.

The best spinal PT I have had. I hope to continue with him as soon as he recovers from his shoulder surgery. He listens and is willing to be creative to help me work with my various injury needs. He is innovative in putting my exercises together to help me in the most practical ways. I appreciate those things.

We couldn’t be happier with the PT care that Sarah provided. She was outstanding and we would highly recommend her. Very professional and so knowledgeable in her field. She helped Alex through the difficult and painful days post surgery with positive suggestions to help him. She was the best!!! We really miss her, but thanks to her, Alex is doing great and gaining strength every day. We were truly blessed that she was sent to us. Thank you❤️
How much will a physical therapy session cost?

We accept Medicare and are in network with most major PPO insurance plans. For most insurance plans, you will just pay the normal co-pay you would pay for a clinic appointment plus a marketplace fee*. For Medicare with secondary insurance, most visits will be at no cost. For self-pay, the out of pocket cost is $175 for the first evaluation and $150 for follow-up care. We can verify your benefits prior to your first appointment, get started here.

*The Marketplace Fee is a variable fee charged to patients. The Marketplace fee helps support safety compliance, healthcare technology, and sourcing of physical therapists.

Can I see the same physical therapist every visit?

Yes, typically you can have consistent care with the same physical therapist but in the rare case that schedules don't allow, we'll inform you ahead of time.

When and where can I have my appointment?

We'll make plans to come to your home, office, or wherever and whenever works best for you. Give us a call to work out all the details.

Is a referral or prescription necessary to schedule an appointment?

Most likely no. However, some insurance providers may require a physician referral, see below for more details. But no worries, we'll reach out to you if that's the case.

Commercial insurance (CA only): Direct Access rules do not require a prescription for physical therapy for up to 12 visits. After 12 visits or 45 days (whichever comes first), the PeteHealth team will help you obtain a prescription for more visits, when necessary.

Medicare rules: Medicare patients are required to have a signed plan of care for physical therapy. Your PeteHealth physical therapist will develop a plan of care during your first evaluation, and the PeteHealth team will work to obtain approval from a physician. A new plan of care will need to be submitted for approval every 90 days or 10 visits (whichever comes sooner), which the PeteHealth team will also help facilitate.

Will my insurance cover PeteHealth?

We are covered by most commercial insurance providers. In most cases, we are also covered by Medicare. However, our benefits verification takes only a few minutes and will provide an estimate for your visit based on your insurance coverage -- you can get started here.

Why choose PeteHealth versus a traditional, clinic provider?

Our expert physical therapists come to you, to make the process as convenient for you as possible, including avoiding the hassle of waiting rooms and finding parking. You'll also receive exclusive treatment with one therapist for the entire session and we’ll also provide you with a personalized plan on how to move around your home or office. Our PTs are also trained to sanitize before and after each treatment.

Which locations do PeteHealth therapists serve?

Currently, we’re available throughout California but you can always check availability here.
