Can you tell us about your background and experience as a physical therapist?

I previously worked at an outpatient ortho clinic before joining PeteHealth and I’ve been with PeteHealth for almost a year now. I really enjoy working one-on-one with patients and having the freedom and time to actually get to know them! It also positively impacts my treatment plan for my patients because I learn how they cope with pain/stress, learn/remember exercises, and what activities they want to return to without pain.

What initially drew you to PeteHealth?

‍

Honestly, I was excited about the earning potential. Like many other PTs, I have student loan debt and maximizing my earning potential is critical to reducing that burden. That was a source of stress for me and with PeteHealth, I feel that I have a more manageable path to being debt-free and in turn, that helps me to better focus on what I really love – which is providing exceptional care to my patients.

Can you tell us about one of your more memorable PeteHealth patient success stories?   

‍

I had a patient with chronic low back pain. Over the years, her pain level varied but at times her pain was so severe that she required medical attention. When I performed her evaluation, she suffered with pain from just bending forward to brush her teeth and developed significant fear and in turn, avoidance to move all together. We started by addressing her movement impairments and emphasizing patient education. I like to empower my patients with education on anatomy, PT impairments, and why/what I am treating because I believe it is very important for the patient to be involved in the treatment. After only a couple of sessions with her, she is now able to bend forward, stand/walk for 6 hours, and squat without pain! More importantly, she is able to return to the activities she enjoys without any fear of hurting herself.

What do you love most about working with PeteHealth?

The autonomy that I have is really one of the most important benefits for me. It’s really simple: work more, earn more. I can set my own schedule and caseload depending on my earning and career goals. Coming from a traditional clinic environment, that autonomy and ability to be in charge of my career is a change for the better and one of the benefits I love about PeteHealth.
